Objectives* To help children identify and express their emotions.
* To develop children's coping mechanisms for dealing with difficult emotions.

Materials* Pictures of different emotions (e.g., happy, sad, angry, scared)
* Playdough
* Markers or crayons
* Music player
* Calming music
* Stuffed animal or doll

Introduction (5 minutes)* Welcome children to the group and ask them how they are feeling today.
* Show them pictures of different emotions and ask them to identify the emotions in the pictures.

Emotion Exploration (10 minutes)* Divide children into small groups and provide them with playdough.
* Ask children to use the playdough to create something that represents how they are feeling.
* Encourage children to talk about their creations and explain how they are feeling.

Coping Skills (15 minutes)* Gather children together and ask them to think about times when they have felt different emotions.
* Discuss healthy ways to cope with difficult emotions, such as talking to a friend, drawing, or playing outside.
* Practice deep breathing exercises as a calming technique.
