Objectives:

Materials:* Whiteboard or chart paper

Procedure:
1. Introduction (10 minutes)
* Begin by asking students what comes to mind when they hear the word "stress."
* Write their responses on the whiteboard or chart paper.
* Define stress as the feeling of emotional or physical tension or pressure.
2. Identifying Causes and Symptoms of Stress (15 minutes)
* Discuss common causes of stress among middle school students, such as:
* Academic pressure
* Social anxiety
* Family problems
* Financial worries
* Have students work in small groups to create a list of physical and emotional symptoms of stress.
* Share their findings with the class.
3. Coping Mechanisms for Stress (20 minutes)
* Introduce students to different coping mechanisms for managing stress.
* Explain that some coping mechanisms are healthy and effective, while others are unhealthy and may worsen stress.
* Distribute the stress worksheet and have students fill it out.
4. Healthy Stress Reduction Techniques (15 minutes)
