Objectives

Procedure

1. Introduction (10 minutes)


Begin by asking students what they know about mental health. Write their responses on the whiteboard or chart paper. Explain that mental health refers to the overall well-being of our minds and emotions. Just like our physical health, our mental health can impact our overall well-being.

2. Defining Mental Health (15 minutes)


Show students the video "Mental Health Matters." Discuss the different aspects of mental health mentioned in the video, such as emotional well-being, social skills, and self-esteem. Ask students to identify examples of each aspect from their own lives.

3. Exploring Mental Health Challenges (20 minutes)


Explain that everyone experiences mental health challenges at some point in their lives. Some common challenges include anxiety, depression, and low self-esteem. Emphasize that these challenges are not a sign of weakness and that there is help available.

4. Strategies for Good Mental Health (15 minutes)


Discuss different strategies that can help students maintain good mental health, such as exercise, healthy eating, getting enough sleep, and practicing self-care activities. Encourage students to share their own ideas for promoting mental health.

5. Empathy and Understanding (10 minutes)
