Procedure:1. Introduction (5 minutes)
* Begin by asking students what they believe mental health means.
* Write their responses on the whiteboard.
* Clarify that mental health refers to our emotional, psychological, social, and behavioral well-being.
2. Common Mental Health Conditions (15 minutes)
* Discuss the following common mental health conditions:
* Anxiety disorders
* Depression
* Bipolar disorder
* Schizophrenia
* Explain the symptoms and causes of each condition.
3. Coping Strategies (10 minutes)
* Brainstorm strategies for coping with stress and adversity, such as:
* Exercise
* Relaxation techniques (e.g., deep breathing, meditation)
* Talking to a trusted person
* Seeking professional help
4. Role-Playing Activity (10 minutes)
* Divide students into groups of 3-4.
* Assign each group a mental health condition and a coping strategy.
* Have students role-play a situation where they are experiencing the condition and using the coping strategy.
5. Conclusion (5 minutes)
* Summarize the lesson by emphasizing the importance of mental health and the availability of support systems.
* Encourage students to seek help if they or someone they know is struggling.
