* Measuring tape
Step 2: Choose the Location
Select a location for the lock that is not easily accessible from outside your home. It should also be close to an electrical outlet.
Step 3: Install the Lock Body
Remove the faceplate from the lock body. Use the template provided with the lock to mark the screw holes. Drill pilot holes and insert the screws to secure the lock body to the door frame.
Step 4: Wire the Lock
Strip the wires coming from the lock body about 1/2 inch. Connect the red wire to the "L" terminal on the power supply, the black wire to the "N" terminal, and the yellow wire to the "GND" terminal. Secure the wires with electrical tape.
Step 5: Connect the Power Supply
Connect the power supply to an electrical outlet. The lock should power up and emit a beep.
Step 6: Install the Faceplate
Place the faceplate over the lock body and secure it with the screws provided.
Step 7: Install the Water Sensor
Peel the protective backing off the water sensor and attach it to the floor near the door. Connect the sensor to the "WATER" terminal on the power supply.
Step 8: Install the Door Lock
Remove the existing door lock and install the new lock in its place. Make sure the door lock is properly aligned with the strike plate.
Step 9: Test the Lock
Test the lock by opening and closing the door. The lock should automatically unlock when you close the door and lock when you open the door. Test the water sensor by pouring water on it. The lock should sound an alarm.
Troubleshooting* If the lock does not power up, check the wiring connections.
* If the lock does not unlock or lock properly, adjust the strike plate until it is properly aligned.
* If the water sensor does not sound an alarm, check the battery or replace it if necessary.
Additional Tips* For added security, install a keypad or fingerprint scanner on the lock.
* Use a lock with a tamper-proof design to prevent unauthorized access.
* Regularly check the batteries in the water sensor and replace them as needed.
* If you experience any difficulties during installation, contact a qualified electrician.
