How to Replace the Screen on the Tecno Spark 8 Pro122

Replacing the screen on the Tecno Spark 8 Pro may seem like a daunting task, but it's actually quite straightforward if you have the right tools and a little patience. Here's a step-by-step guide to help you through the process:

Before You Begin

Before you begin, gather the following tools and materials:*
New Tecno Spark 8 Pro screen
Phillips #00 screwdriver
Plastic spudger or pry tool
Suction cup
Heat gun or hair dryer
Isopropyl alcohol
Cotton balls or swabs

Step 1: Remove the Back Cover

Start by powering off the Tecno Spark 8 Pro. Locate the back cover and insert the tip of a plastic spudger or pry tool into the seam between the cover and the frame. Gently pry the cover loose, working your way around the edges.

Step 2: Disconnect the Battery

Once the back cover is removed, use the Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screw holding the battery connector in place. Disconnect the battery by carefully lifting the connector straight up.

Step 3: Remove the SIM and microSD Card Tray

Use the SIM ejector tool or a pin to remove the SIM and microSD card tray from the side of the phone.

Step 4: Remove the Motherboard Screws

Locate the three Phillips #00 screws holding the motherboard in place and remove them.

Step 5: Disconnect Motherboard Connectors

Carefully disconnect the following connectors from the motherboard:*
Front panel connector
Microphone connector
Vibration motor connector
Rear camera connector

Step 6: Remove the Motherboard

Once the connectors are disconnected, gently lift the motherboard out of the phone.

Step 7: Remove the Display Assembly

Heat the edges of the screen around the perimeter with a heat gun or hair dryer for about 30 seconds. This will soften the adhesive holding the display assembly in place.

Attach a suction cup to the screen and gently pull up to separate the display assembly from the frame.

Use a plastic spudger or pry tool to carefully disconnect the display connector from the motherboard.

Step 8: Install the New Screen

Remove any residue from the frame where the old screen was attached. Align the new display assembly and press it down around the edges to secure it.

Step 9: Reassemble the Phone
