Are you tired of getting your clothes dirty while gardening? Do you wish you had a convenient way to carry your tools and supplies? If so, then you need a gardening apron! Gardening aprons are a great way to keep your clothes clean and protected, and they can also help you stay organized while you're working in the garden.
In this tutorial, we'll show you how to make a simple gardening apron using just a few basic materials. The apron is designed to be both functional and stylish, and it's perfect for both men and women.
MaterialsTo make this gardening apron, you will need the following materials:
* 1 yard of heavy-duty fabric (such as canvas or denim)
* 1/2 yard of contrasting fabric (for the pockets)
* 1/2 yard of fusible interfacing
* 1 package of bias tape
* A sewing machine
* Thread
* Scissors
* Iron and ironing board
Instructions1. Start by cutting out the fabric pieces for the apron. The main body of the apron should be cut to the following dimensions: 24 inches wide by 36 inches long. The pockets should be cut to the following dimensions: 6 inches wide by 8 inches long.
2. Iron on the fusible interfacing to the wrong side of the main body of the apron. This will help to give the apron more structure and durability.
3. Fold the top edge of the apron down by 1 inch and press it. Then, fold it down again by another 1 inch and press it. Stitch the hem in place.
4. Fold the side edges of the apron in by 1/2 inch and press them. Then, fold them in again by another 1/2 inch and press them. Stitch the hems in place.
5. To make the pockets, fold the top edge of each pocket down by 1 inch and press it. Then, fold it down again by another 1 inch and press it. Stitch the hem in place.
6. Fold the side edges of each pocket in by 1/2 inch and press them. Then, fold them in again by another 1/2 inch and press them. Stitch the hems in place.
7. Attach the pockets to the main body of the apron. Place the pockets on the front of the apron, spacing them evenly. Stitch the pockets in place around the edges.
8. To make the ties, cut two strips of fabric that are 2 inches wide and 36 inches long. Fold each strip of fabric in half lengthwise and press it. Then, fold the raw edges in towards the center and press them. Stitch the ties in place around the edges.
9. Attach the ties to the apron. Fold the top edge of each tie down by 1 inch and press it. Then, fold it down again by another 1 inch and press it. Stitch the ties in place on the inside of the apron.
10. To finish the apron, apply bias tape around the edges. This will help to seal the edges and give the apron a professional finish.
Your gardening apron is now complete! Enjoy using it to keep your clothes clean and organized while you're working in the garden.
