Cooking Mama, the beloved video game character known for her culinary skills and stylish outfits, has become a popular costume for cosplay and Halloween. Her iconic red and white dress is relatively easy to make, and with a little bit of creativity, you can create a unique and eye-catching costume. Here is a step-by-step tutorial on how to make Cooking Mama's dress:

Materials:
Red fabric (1 yard)
White fabric (1/2 yard)
Red bias tape (1/2 yard)
White bias tape (1/4 yard)
Elastic (1/4 yard)
Needle and thread
Scissors
Measuring tape or ruler
Iron and ironing board

Instructions:

1. Bodice

Cut out two rectangles of red fabric, each measuring 18 inches by 12 inches.
Fold one rectangle in half lengthwise, right sides together, and sew the two long edges together. Repeat with the second rectangle.
Turn the two rectangles right side out and press the seams flat.
Pin the two rectangles together along the top and bottom edges, matching the seams. Sew them together along these edges, leaving a 4-inch opening at the bottom for turning.
Turn the bodice right side out through the opening. Press the seams flat.

2. Sleeves

Cut out two rectangles of white fabric, each measuring 12 inches by 6 inches.
Fold each rectangle in half lengthwise, right sides together, and sew the two long edges together. Turn the sleeves right side out and press the seams flat.
Gather the top edge of each sleeve using a running stitch. Pull the thread to create a gathered edge.
Pin the gathered edges of the sleeves to the armscyes of the bodice, matching the seams. Sew the sleeves to the bodice.

3. Collar

Cut out a rectangle of white fabric measuring 6 inches by 2 inches.
Fold the rectangle in half lengthwise, right sides together, and sew the two long edges together. Turn the collar right side out and press the seam flat.
Fold one end of the collar over by 1 inch and press. Fold the other end over the first fold by 1 inch and press. Sew the two folds together to create a loop for the button.
Sew the collar to the neckline of the bodice.

4. Skirt

Cut out a circle of red fabric with a radius of 24 inches.
Fold the circle in half and then in half again to create a quarter circle. Pin the edges of the quarter circle together and sew them together to create the skirt.
Turn the skirt right side out and press the seams flat.
Gather the top edge of the skirt using a running stitch. Pull the thread to create a gathered edge.
Pin the gathered edge of the skirt to the bottom edge of the bodice, matching the seams. Sew the skirt to the bodice.

5. Apron

Cut out a rectangle of white fabric measuring 12 inches by 18 inches.
Fold the rectangle in half lengthwise, right sides together, and sew the two long edges together. Turn the apron right side out and press the seam flat.
Fold the top edge of the apron over by 1 inch and press. Fold the other end over the first fold by 1 inch and press. Sew the two folds together to create a loop for the button.
Sew the apron to the front of the dress, aligning the top edge of the apron with the bottom edge of the bodice.

6. Buttons

Cut out two circles of white fabric with a diameter of 1 inch.
Fold each circle in half twice to create a small square. Sew around the edges of the square, leaving a small opening for turning.
Turn the buttons right side out and stuff them with a small amount of batting or fabric scraps. Sew the opening closed.
Sew the buttons to the front of the dress, one on the collar and one on the apron.

7. Finishing Touches

Trim any excess fabric from the seams.
Press the entire dress to give it a finished look.
Accessorize with a chef's hat and cooking utensils to complete the Cooking Mama look.

Congratulations! You now have a beautiful and unique Cooking Mama dress. Enjoy wearing it to your next cosplay or Halloween event.
