The apron is made from durable cotton canvas and features a large pocket for storing your tools. It also has a adjustable neck strap and waist ties for a comfortable fit.

Materials- 1 yard of cotton canvas
- 1/2 yard of contrasting fabric
- 1 inch wide cotton webbing (for neck strap)
- 1 inch wide cotton twill tape (for waist ties)
- Sewing machine
- Scissors
- Iron and ironing board
- Measuring tape or ruler
- Fabric marker or chalk
- Safety pin

Instructions

1. Cut out the following pieces from the cotton canvas:
1 apron body: 24 inches wide x 36 inches long
2 pocket pieces: 12 inches wide x 10 inches long
2 waist ties: 24 inches long
1 neck strap: 24 inches long

2. Cut out the following pieces from the contrasting fabric:1 pocket facing: 12 inches wide x 10 inches long
1 neck strap facing: 24 inches wide x 5 inches long

3. Fold the apron body in half lengthwise, right sides together. Sew the side seams, using a 1/2 inch seam allowance. Press the seams open.

4. Fold the top edge of the apron down 2 inches and press. Fold the edge down another 1 inch and press again. Stitch the hem in place, using a 1/4 inch seam allowance.

5. Fold the bottom edge of the apron up 1 inch and press. Fold the edge up another 1 inch and press again. Stitch the hem in place, using a 1/4 inch seam allowance.

6. Sew the pocket facing to the top edge of one of the pocket pieces, right sides together. Press the seam open.

7. Fold the pocket in half lengthwise, right sides together. Sew the side seams, using a 1/2 inch seam allowance. Press the seams open.

8. Fold the top edge of the pocket down 1 inch and press. Fold the edge down another 1 inch and press again. Stitch the hem in place, using a 1/4 inch seam allowance.

9. Repeat steps 6-8 to make the second pocket.

10. Pin the pockets to the apron body, centering them and spacing them evenly apart. Stitch the pockets in place, using a 1/4 inch seam allowance.

11. Fold the neck strap in half lengthwise, wrong sides together. Press the edges together. Fold the raw edges of the strap in towards the center and press again. Stitch the strap closed, using a 1/4 inch seam allowance.

12. Fold the neck strap facing in half lengthwise, wrong sides together. Press the edges together. Insert the neck strap into the facing, raw edges together. Fold the facing over the strap and press. Stitch the facing in place, using a 1/4 inch seam allowance.

13. Pin the neck strap to the back of the apron, centering it and aligning the raw edges. Stitch the strap in place, using a 1/4 inch seam allowance.

14. Fold the waist ties in half and press the edges together. Fold the raw edges of the ties in towards the center and press again. Stitch the ties closed, using a 1/4 inch seam allowance.

15. Pin the waist ties to the sides of the apron, centering them and aligning the raw edges. Stitch the ties in place, using a 1/4 inch seam allowance.

16. Your garden apron is now complete! Enjoy using it in your garden.
