Youtiao, also known as Chinese crullers or fried dough sticks, is a popular street food in China and many other Asian countries. 3. Shape the youtiao: Punch down the dough and divide it into 12 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a long, thin rope, about 12 inches long. Take two ropes and twist them together, then form them into a circle. Pinch the ends together to seal.

4. Fry the youtiao: Heat a large pot or wok of vegetable oil to 375 degrees F. Carefully drop the youtiao into the hot oil and fry for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crispy. Remove the youtiao from the oil and drain them on paper towels.

Tips:
For a chewier youtiao, let the dough rise for longer, up to 2 hours.
