Gionee S9 Teardown236


The Gionee S9 is a mid-range smartphone that was released in China in March 2018. It features a 5.99-inch LCD display, a MediaTek Helio P23 processor, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of storage. The S9 also has a dual-lens rear camera and a 16-megapixel front-facing camera.

In this teardown, we will take a closer look at the Gionee S9 and see what makes it tick. We will also provide some tips on how to repair the S9 if it breaks.

Tools and Materials

You will need the following tools and materials to complete this teardown:
Phillips #000 screwdriver
Torx T5 screwdriver
Spudger
Tweezers
Suction cup

Disassembly

1. Start by removing the two Phillips #000 screws from the bottom of the phone.

2. Use a suction cup to lift up the back panel of the phone. Be careful not to damage the fingerprint sensor.

3. Remove the Torx T5 screw from the bottom of the battery connector.

4. Disconnect the battery connector.

5. Remove the four Phillips #000 screws from the motherboard.

6. Disconnect the two ribbon cables from the motherboard.

7. Remove the motherboard from the phone.

8. Remove the two Phillips #000 screws from the bottom of the rear camera module.

9. Disconnect the rear camera module from the motherboard.

10. Remove the rear camera module from the phone.

11. Remove the two Phillips #000 screws from the bottom of the front camera module.

12. Disconnect the front camera module from the motherboard.

13. Remove the front camera module from the phone.

14. Remove the two Phillips #000 screws from the bottom of the speaker module.

15. Disconnect the speaker module from the motherboard.

16. Remove the speaker module from the phone.

17. Remove the two Phillips #000 screws from the bottom of the USB port module.

18. Disconnect the USB port module from the motherboard.

19. Remove the USB port module from the phone.

20. That's it! You have now successfully disassembled the Gionee S9.

Reassembly

To reassemble the Gionee S9, simply follow the disassembly instructions in reverse order.

Tips

Here are a few tips for repairing the Gionee S9:
If the display is cracked, you will need to replace the entire display assembly.
If the battery is not holding a charge, you will need to replace the battery.
If the rear camera is not working, you will need to replace the rear camera module.
If the front camera is not working, you will need to replace the front camera module.
If the speaker is not working, you will need to replace the speaker module.
If the USB port is not working, you will need to replace the USB port module.
