Phillips #000 screwdriver
Tri-point Y000 screwdriver
Spudger
Plastic opening tool
Suction cup
Heat gun or hair dryer
Instructions
Power off the Huawei P9 and remove the SIM card tray.
Use a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove the two screws located at the bottom of the phone.
Use a suction cup to lift up the back cover of the phone. Be careful not to damage the fingerprint sensor cable.
Remove the back cover and locate the battery. Use a spudger to disconnect the battery cable from the motherboard.
Remove the two screws located on the top of the motherboard. These screws hold down the motherboard heat shield.
Use a spudger to pry up the motherboard heat shield.
Locate the two screws located on the bottom of the motherboard. These screws hold down the daughterboard.
Use a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove the two screws.
Use a spudger to pry up the daughterboard and remove it from the motherboard.
Locate the two screws located on the top of the motherboard. These screws hold down the front-facing camera module.
Use a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove the two screws.
Use a spudger to pry up the front-facing camera module and remove it from the motherboard.
Locate the connector for the front screen. It is located on the bottom of the motherboard.
Use a spudger to disconnect the front screen cable from the motherboard.
Use a heat gun or hair dryer to heat up the edges of the front screen. This will loosen the adhesive that holds the screen in place.
Use a plastic opening tool to pry up the front screen and remove it from the phone.
To install the new front screen, simply reverse the steps above. Be sure to align the new screen properly before pressing it into place. Once the new screen is in place, power on the phone to test it. If the new screen is working properly, reassemble the phone and you're done!
