Antique Phone Filter Tutorial142

In this tutorial, we will create an antique phone filter using Photoshop. This filter will give your photos a vintage look and feel, as if they were taken on an old-fashioned phone camera. To start, open your photo in Photoshop and duplicate the background layer by pressing Ctrl+J (Windows) or Cmd+J (Mac).

Next, we will create a new adjustment layer by clicking on the "Create new adjustment layer" icon at the bottom of the Layers panel. Select "Levels" from the drop-down menu. In the Levels adjustment layer, adjust the input levels as follows: Input Shadows: 0, Input Midtones: 1.00, Input Highlights: 255.

Now, we will add a Curves adjustment layer to adjust the contrast of the photo. Click on the "Create new adjustment layer" icon again and select "Curves" from the drop-down menu. In the Curves adjustment layer, click on the line graph to create a point. Drag the point down to adjust the contrast. You can also adjust the shape of the curve to fine-tune the contrast.

Next, we will add a Hue/Saturation adjustment layer to adjust the colors of the photo. Click on the "Create new adjustment layer" icon again and select "Hue/Saturation" from the drop-down menu. In the Hue/Saturation adjustment layer, adjust the Hue slider to -10 to give the photo a slightly warmer tone. You can also adjust the Saturation slider to decrease the vibrancy of the colors.

Now, we will add a Color Balance adjustment layer to further adjust the colors of the photo. Click on the "Create new adjustment layer" icon again and select "Color Balance" from the drop-down menu. In the Color Balance adjustment layer, adjust the sliders as follows: Shadows: -5, Midtones: 0, Highlights: 5. This will give the photo a slight sepia tone.

Next, we will add a Gradient Map adjustment layer to create a gradient effect on the photo. Click on the "Create new adjustment layer" icon again and select "Gradient Map" from the drop-down menu. In the Gradient Map adjustment layer, select the "Copper" gradient from the preset gradients. You can also adjust the opacity of the gradient to fine-tune the effect.

Finally, we will add a Vignette effect to the photo to give it a vintage look. Click on the "Create new adjustment layer" icon again and select "Vignette" from the drop-down menu. In the Vignette adjustment layer, adjust the Amount slider to -70 to create a dark vignette around the edges of the photo. You can also adjust the Roundness slider to change the shape of the vignette.

Once you are happy with the results, merge all the layers by pressing Ctrl+Shift+E (Windows) or Cmd+Shift+E (Mac). Your antique phone filter is now complete!
